  1. 1. In a medium bowl, beat the softened butter with a wooden spoon or hand mixer until light and smooth, about 2-3 minutes, until the butter is pale and creamy with no lumps visible.
  2. 2. Add the powdered sugar gradually, a few tablespoons at a time, beating well after each addition, until fully incorporated and the mixture is thick, smooth, and holds its shape, about 3-4 minutes total.
  3. 3. Beat in the lemon extract and vanilla extract until evenly distributed, about 30 seconds.
  4. 4. Transfer to a small serving bowl or ramekin. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes until firm, or serve immediately at room temperature. The finished sauce should be pale, stiff, and spreadable, not liquid.
