1 White Sauce (quantity as needed to coat macaroni; see cross-reference)
1 Bread crumbs, buttered (enough to cover surface of dish)
Instructions
1. Heat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Combine cooked macaroni with White Sauce and transfer to a buttered 1.5-quart (1.4 L) baking dish, approximately 8x8 inches (20x20 cm). The dish should be filled to within 1/2 inch (1 cm) of the rim.
3. Cover the surface evenly with buttered bread crumbs.
4. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20–30 minutes, until the crumb topping is deep golden brown and crisp to the touch, and the sauce is visibly bubbling at the edges of the dish.
